CSL 2013 Weekend Wrap: All the goals from round 4

The Chinese Super League’s Round 4 started on Friday night with Beijing Guoan taking all three points away from Jiangsu Sainty who finished second in the CSL last year.

Saturday afternoon witnessed Dalian Aerbin fighting their way to a 1:0 win away at Zall. Wuhan remain pointless (not quite) at the bottom of the table, while Aerbin takes their points tally up to four. Over at the coast in Shandong Province, Qingdao dropped their first points of the season, by drawing 1:1 at home with Guangzhou R&F, who in return won their premier point of the 2013 campaign. Shandong Luneng on the other hand, became the only team after this weekend still surviving with the maximum of 12 points. But they just got away with it this time, needing a winner in time-added after the 90 minutes to overcome a Tianjin Teda side, who is still rooted to the bottom of the table, but which has managed not to lose a CSL game this year prior to this one.

Over at windy Yuanshen Stadium in Shanghai’s Pudong District on Saturday night, 7,011 fans (supposedly) saw a 1:1 draw between Shanghai Shenxin and Liaoning Whowin, an entertaining encounter. Both teams showed their respective faces as one-half teams, with Shanghai taking the lead in the first and with chances to run away with it. But the Shenyangers utilized their half-time speech well and suddenly managed to introduce some more precision to their game.

Sunday afternoon saw Shanghai East Asia winning the first game of the season, as they managed to overcome a lackluster Changchun Yatai at the Shanghai Stadium. The only Sunday night match saw a stalemate 0:0 between safety-first Shanghai Shenhua and Hangzhou Greentown in Zhejiang Province.

The match between Guangzhou Evergrande against Guizhou Renhe was postponed. A total of 118,020 spectators turned up at the gates which makes for an average of 16,860 per game.
