Han Peng: No motivation needed to face Evergrande

Shandong Luneng striker Han Peng believes his side will need no motivation to take on Guangzhou Evergrande this Saturday, in a clash of the 2013 Chinese Super League’s top two sides.

With Evergrande already three points clear at the top of the table, Shandong will be looking to return home from the Tianhe Stadium with at least some points in the bag to remain in contention for the title.

Han Peng, who has scored seven goals in six league games this season, acknowledges that it will be a difficult task with Guangzhou averaging over four goals per game on their home ground.

“Evergrande’s are very strong all across the pitch, and we will be away from home,” he told a pre-match press conference. “However, a game is just played over 90 minutes. If they want to beat us they need to do it on the pitch.

“When you play Evergrande, everybody in the team really wants to win. You really don’t need to motivate the players.

“As long as the team put in a good performance and show good attitude, we can accept any result. Of course, it will be best if we can get three points. We all need to fully believe that we can win the match.”

The clash between Evergrande and Luneng will take place on Saturday at 20.00 Beijing time.
