Guangzhou Evergrande remain top after late goal secures three points – CSL round-up

A look at all the action in the CSL this week…

Guangzhou Evergrande 3 – 2 Shanghai Shenhua

Both sides made a bright start to the game creating a lot of chances, Shanghai Shenhua were close to breaking the dead lock on the 18 minute but the wood work denied them. Alan’s looped cross was then met by Gao Lin who headed the ball across the Shenhua six yard box to be met by Paulinho who tapped the ball in. Shenhua did hit straight back when a free-kick from distance by Guarin slipped under goalkeeper Zeng Cheng to even things up at 1-1. Just before half-time Guarin gets another chance to hit a free-kick from distance but this time its parried away by Cheng but Martins reacts faster than anyone else and makes the score 2-1. Li Jianbin attempted to clear the ball in the second half but it ended up in his own net and leaves the sides level. In the 86th minuteShenhua fail to clear the ball and get punished by Yu Hanchao as he slots the ball away and gives Guangzhou Evergrande the 3 points.


Jiangsu Suning 1 – 1 Yanbian Funde

The visitors started the game steady but in the 12th minute Trawaly picked the ball up outside the area, he then fakes a shot and with the outside of his right boot send the ball into the top right corner to put his side 0-1. Trawaly then gets played through for a 1 on 1 with the keeper but a fantastic late tackle that stops him making it 0-2. Jiangsu Suning stepped the tempo up in the second half and created a number of chances but failed to score. Until the 76th minute when Brazilian Alex Teixeira beats his defender and opens up room for his shot, he makes no mistake sliding the ball past the goalkeeper making the final score 1-1.

Tianjin Quanjian 1 – 3 Changchun Yatai

Changchun Yatai started well as Huszti corner was headed in by Ismailov within the first five minutes. Tuanjin Quanjian continued pressure finally paid off when Alex Witsel converted a penalty in the 31st minute. Just before the end of the second half Zheng Dalun gave a silly penalty away and Huszti made no mistake from the spot and made the score line 1-2. Yatai continued to create a number of chances and in the 79 minute Tan Long pulled the ball back across the area to set Huszti up for his second goal of the game and seal the points for the away side

Shanghai SIPG 3 – 0 Guizhou Zhicheng

The home side started the game really positively creating a number of chances but failed to score. Guizhou Zhicheng had the ball in the net but the goal is disallowed, Zhicheng then hit the cross-bar moments later. Shanghai SIPG scored just before half time when captain Wang Shenchao scores. Shanghai SIPG put pressure on Guizhou Zhicheng and finally get rewarded as Hulk’s strike is too powerful for goalkeeper Sue Boyang to keep out and it’s 2-0. Guizhou Zhicheng hit the cross bar late on in the game with a fantastic effort from Iminjan Ilhamjan. Australian international McGowan then gets sent off for deliberately using his arm to stop the ball from crossing the line, Elkeson converts the penalty to finish the game 3-0.

Chongqing Lifan 2 – 3 Henan Jianye

Ahmad Al Salih opens the scoring with a powerful header from an early corner putting Henan Jianye in front. Hu Jinghang then makes the score 0-2 when he puts the ball in the top corner, Bassogo claiming the assist with a creative back heel. Chongqing   finally get one back in the 74 minute with some very nice football that forces a good save from the goalkeeper but the ball drops to Wu Qing who makes it 1-2. Chongqing score again 4 minutes later but the goal is disallowed due to an offside. Bassogo scores in the 92nd minute to confirm all 3 points for Henan , before Milović nets a consolation goal as he scores in the 95th minute.

Tianjin Teda 1 – 1 Liaoning Whowin

A mid table clash with both teams looking for a win saw a number chances for both sides in the opening 45 minutes, the best fell to Liaoning just before half time but they failed to score. In the second half Tianjin Teda looked the better side creating two very good chances for striker Ideye but he fails to score on both attempts. Tianjin Teda do break the dead lock in the 81st minute when Lei Yongchi sets up Hu Rentian to make the score 1-0. Liaoning corner in the 90th minute hits Pan Ximing head and goes in his own net, making the final score line 1-1.

Beijing Guoan 1 – 4 Hebei CFFC

Both sides came into this game in decent form attempting to keep pace with the top four sides. Guoan started very strong as they win an early penalty and Soriano make no mistake, making the score 1-0.  Renato Augusto then misses a brilliant chance to make the score 2-0 and imminently regrets the miss as Li Hang scores a fantastic goal to level the scoring at 1-1. Just before half time Hebei score again when Aloisio nets from a corner. At the start of the second half Levezzi whips in another corner which is this time finished off by Yuhao, making the score 1-3. Guoan have a few chances to turn the game around but they failed to take them and in the 83rd minute Levezzi shows his talent to roll the ball to Aloisio who scores to finish the game off at 1-4.

Shandong Luneng 3 – 0 Guangzhou R&F

The last game of the CSL weekend saw both sides are fighting for top position in the league. Shandong Luneng started the game very well and should have scored within the first 30 seconds but goalkeeper Cheng Yuelei made a great save.  Shandong Luneng do score on the 13th minute with a diving header from Zhang Chi, and moments later Zhang Chi gets another goal as R&F defenders fail to tackle him and Chi makes it 2-0. R&F fail to capitalize on the chances they create and then a Diego Tardelli strike from outside the area finds the bottom corner and makes the score 3-0.  Shandong Luneng took all 3 points and moved to 3rd in the table overtaking R&F who move down to 4th.
