A look at all the action in the CSL this week…

Guangzhou R&F 1 – 1 Hebei CFFC

Guangzhou R&F and Hebei kicked off this weeks CSL action on Friday with the home side looking to take all 3 points after last weeks disappointing 3-0  loss to Shandong Luneng. The game started fairly even with both sides creating good chances from the start, the first big opportunity of the game fell to home side when Lavezzi strike was saved by goalkeeper Cheng Yuelei. Then in the 30th minute Brazillian Júnior Urso dispossessed the home side deep in their half but decided to take the early shot which was saved, keeping the score level at half time. Throughout the second half both sides continued to create goal scoring opportunities with some attractive football being played but both goalkeepers made a number of good saves that helped keep the game goalless. Then in the 85th minute Lavezzi picked the ball up out wide and started to dribble towards goal evading three defenders in the process, his strike then guided the ball into the bottom corner and make the score 0-1.  Seconds later the home side replied when Joo-Young Kim failed clearance drop to Li Tixiang on the edge of  the box, Tixiang first time strike was then met by Zahavi and his slightest of touches was enough to beat the goalkeeper to make the final sore 1-1.

Liaoning Kaixin  2 – 1 Chongqing Dangdai Lifan

This mid table clash saw both sides looking for a win as both teams have failed to win in their last four CSL matches. The rest of the second half was quiet with both sides struggling to create any real chances apart from a few long distances effort that did not trouble either keeper. The away side started better in the second half  and scored in the 59th minute when Peng Xinli pass cut though the home sides defences and fell to Ding Jie who struck the ball across the goalkeeper into the corner, making the score 1-1.  The home side almost reacted straight away as a mistake in midfield allowed them to counter attack with two players on two but when Ujah finally attempted to shoot he got tackled, the ball did roll past the goalkeeper but Milović cleared the ball of the line. Chamanga then won his side a penalty in the 70 minute but it should have been a free kick as foul didn’t happen in the area, however Chamanga stepped up and made no mistake with the penalty and secured all 3 points for his team.

Tianjin Quanjian started better in the second half creating more chances, the best of which fell to Alex Witsel but he failed to convert on the 60th minute. The away side finally got their goal on the 80th minute when Geuvânio’s creative back heel allowed room for Witsel to cross the ball which was deflected into the path of Pato who tapped the ball in to level the scores.  Moments later in the 84th minute the home side’s counter attack found room for Jelavić to get his shot away and he netted his fifth goal of the season and making the final score 2-1.

On the 60 minute Ighalo created a very good chance for Tan Long but he failed to score, moments later the ball fell to Zhang Linpeng who smacked the ball with power from distance and his strike found the top corner. Jiangsu Suning 2 – 1 Shandong Luneng

Jiangsu were  looking to move out of the regulation zone with a win and both sides started well. In the 26th minute the away side finally broke the deadlock when Pelle cushioned a pass back to Tardelli who struck the ball with power in to the back of the net, leaving the goalkeeper with no chance. Just before half time the home side had a really good chance to level the score when Alex Teixeira had the ball rolled perfectly into his path but the defender beat him to the ball with a fantastic tackle. In the 58th minute the scorelines were level when Ramires headed the ball into the net from a corner. The away side then got a man sent off after Wang Tong suffered a second yellow for a tackle on Martinez. Tianjin Teda 0 – 1 Shanghai SIPG

Shanghai SIPG came into this game knowing they needed a win to keep up with  Guangzhou Evergrande at the top of the CSL table, and started the game better out of the two teams but did not create any clear goal scoring opportunities. In the 34th minute Lu Wenjun pulled of a great bit of skill and rolled the ball to Fu Huan who finished the move off with a nice finish, making the score 0-1. Just before half time the home side got the chance to level the score but Ideye came up short. Hulk netted for the visitors but the goal was wrongly disallowed for offside by the linesman, but SIPG had already done enough and left the north of China with all three points.
