The domestic season may be over, but there’s plenty to discuss in this seasonal episode. The pod takes a look at the managerial merry-go-round – Vitor Pereira and Paolo Bento keep up the CSL’s Portuguese contingent as AVB continues his 2017 by heading off the tracks, and Shandong look to Li Xiaopeng in a rare opportunity for young domestic managers at a big side.
There’s also some cautious optimism from the pundits for Marcelo Lippi’s experimental side putting up a couple of fighting performances in the EAFF East Asia Cup, and a discussion of who might be the next cab off the rank for international call-ups – perhaps Tang Miao?
The end of the year gives us a chance to indulge in some holiday season classics – we look back at the pods’ pre-season predictions (yes, one of the panel did pick Tevez as signing of the season), give our nominations for phenomenon of the year, and share our own seasonal wishes and Christmas gift lists for some of our favourite CSL clubs and figures – including some of the best nominations shared by the listeners too.
Wild East Football’s Steve Crooks is the host, joined by our regular experts Brandon Chemers in Beijing and Cameron Wilson in Shanghai.
